The Most Likely Tag: Fun Facts About My Characters

As of late, writer’s block has decided to show up in all its glorious nonexistence, probably because NaNoWriMo was traumatizing and I didn’t want to touch my book for an entire month afterwards. But I recently got tagged by my friend Addie at The Lion’s Pen with the Most Likely Tag, which basically asks questions about my characters and I get to answer them here. I’m a fan of tags that have to do with one’s WIP because it helps me to think about my story and characters in ways I never have. So, onwards.

The Writer’s “Get to Know Me” Tag

I ran faster, the stitch in my side forgotten. I felt exhausted and frustrated at how serious this seemingly innocent game of tag had become. I mean, no game of tag has ever existed for two hours, and being anxiety-prone isn’t helping each time I spot a fellow player with impish intent all over their face. When the game started, we were all amateur bloggers, trying to make friends in the otherwise unfriendly world of the Internet. How did it become such a stressful game of every man for himself?

My heart nearly stopped in my chest as I turned a corner and met a dead end; a huge wall of wood spanning about twenty feet in width and length barricaded any other hopes of hiding. Someone had generously graffitied “BLOGGER’S BLOCK” in big black letters across the wall. So this is how it ends, then. But then I heard footsteps, getting louder at an even faster rate than my growing apprehension. When I whipped around, I stood face to face with another runner in the game. It was a girl with long brown hair, braces, and an unexpectingly friendly smile. She reached out, tapped me, and whispered, “tag!” I immediately fell unconscious.

The “First Book You’ve Ever Read” Challenge

It’s called a “challenge” for a reason. Trying to think of the first book I’ve read really is a challenge, especially if you’re not sure what kind of “book” we’re referring to here. If it was my actual first book ever, we’d be talking Curious George or one of those Little Golden Books or “Hey Al,” but then no one would be reading this post. So I just went with what Marrok McIntyre did in his first post of the challenge and picked the first novel I read

By the way, Marrok is the one who tagged me and is the founder of this challenge. He is a fantasy writer and an all around awesome person, and you should definitely check out his blog!

In Which I Discuss the Best Weapons in the World

In case you don’t understand this blog post’s title:

Doctor Who books.gif

You’re welcome.

So, quite obviously, I’ll be talking about books today. I was recently tagged by the epic Aria Maher for the Writer’s Book Tag, and I couldn’t ever pass up an opportunity to talk about books, hence this post. To name a few, I’ll talk about a book I’ve never read, a book that has made me cry, and a favorite fantasy novel I recommend.

Let’s get to it, shall we?

The Writer’s Tag

Deborah Kelty is a Christian writer based in Wales (how awesome is that?). She recently tagged me for the “When You Learn More About me” Writer’s Questionnaire, an honor I am axcited to participate in (mostly because that saves me from having to come up with a blog post topic for Tuesday, I’ll be honest with you).

Liebster Award Tag + 11 Questions Answered

Hey look! The wonderful Hannah Krynicki tagged me in her post for the Liebster Award. She’s an awesome person and writer with brilliant ideas and thoughts, so please, check out her blog and give her a follow. Thanks Hannah!

So, tags have rules. I need to answer 11 questions, list 11 random facts, tag 11 people and give them 11 questions to answer. You’d think the person who created this tag really liked the number 11. Now, on to those questions from Hannah.

January’s WIPjoy: Snippets & a Sneak Peak of Fiction’s Lie

Look up the hashtag #WIPjoy. It was put together by Bethany Jennings, who’s not only a fantasy writer, but also a Christian and homeschool mom, a lovely person who has inspired me in many different ways. (Check out her blog.) Basically, WIPjoy is answering questions about your WIP, one question per day of a designated month, and it happens about three times a year. There was just recently one in January (which I stopped 1/4 of the way through because I would rather answer them all in a blog post) and the one before that was in September.

Tag You’re It: The Writerly Q&A Tag

Last week I was tagged by Luke Hartman, (a great writer and blogger of brilliant writing tips) for the Q&A Tag. I’m always happy to get questions thrown at me, particularly questions that have to do with my writing and fandoms … thus this post. Perhaps it’s the little kid in me who always loved making up and filling out little surveys with my younger siblings that gets me pumped for these tag questions.
